Lashed Jade Toki
$175.00
The toki as a tool (adze) is used for carving and as a symbol represents the cutting through obstructions on the journey of life.
This lashed ‘toki’ (adze) is carved from a stunning New Zealand jade. Very translucent this stone has bright green inclusions of chrome diopside.
I have included a bit of the white rind on the “back” for a bit of contrast.
The pendant has a traditional binding lashed to the top running into the cord which is adjustable.
Self collected jade from many years ago, it was unusual in that I didn’t recognize it jade at first glance and was even more surprised to see the beautiful green stone within when I cut it.
This pendant is 4.8cm long by 3.1cm widest.
