Inanga Jade Hei Tiki

$550.00

This is a Hei Tiki carved from a beautiful self collected New Zealand Inanga jade.

I enjoyed creating this wee treasure and the stone was a pleasure to work. Jade of this fine quality is rare in the Nelson area.

The hei tiki form has it’s meaning obscured by time but most commonly is seen as representing Tiki, the first human.

There are other possible meanings relating to fertility and also the unborn human form.

Description

This is a Hei Tiki carved from a beautiful New Zealand Inanga jade.

The design being one I have designed myself. The eyes are Paua with dark jade pupils.

I have used the brown ‘rind’ of the stone to give contrast which I feel brings more depth to the carving and frames the beautiful Inanga heart. Carved from a self collected pebble from the Nelson area.

This pendant is 5.2cm high and 5.3cm wide.

The cord is adjustable.
