This fish hook (hei matau) is carved from a lovely light green New Zealand jade with attractive markings of dark flecks and whitish chatoyant crystals.
This jade has a rather unusual colour and is one I collected myself many years ago. It is nicely translucent.
This pendant is 7cm high and 3.7cm wide and the traditional style lashing leads to the cord which is adjustable.
