This fish hook (hei matau) is carved from a very beautiful rich green New Zealand jade from the Arahura river.
The stone was given to me a long time ago so it is nice to see it finally getting used to create something beautiful!
The pendant is 8.3cm long by 4.4cm widest and the traditional form of lashing is attached to an adjustable cord.
