This jade toki (adze) pendant is carved from a very unusual New Zealand totoweka jade with orange swirls over a light inanga background. totoweka literally means ‘blood of the weka’ and refers to jades with orange and red markings in the stone, it is quite a rare New Zealand jade.
The top of the pendant is lashed in a traditional style.
The cord has knots that slide to adjust for length.
This pendant is 8.2cm long and 3.7cm widest.
