New Zealand Jade Roimata

This pendant is carved as a form of teardrop or Roimata from a very beautiful New Zealand jade. It has a slight twist I have carved into the pendant which is in the form of a stylized bird.
The stone is a lovely lighter green with a contrasting rind and and olive transition into the heart. Highly translucent it would fit the ‘Kahurangi’ grade of stone.
This jade is one I self collected many years ago from a little known source. Very striking stone and a real pleasure to work.
This striking pendant is 8.7cm high and 1.9cm widest.
The cord has sliding knots so is adjustable.
