Thulite Pendant
$100.00
I have been lucky over my collecting years to find a lot of Thulite, all of which comes from the top of the south Is.
This stunning pendant is in ‘niho’ (tooth) form and has a bright pink colour with some white and black markings. Here I think the white may be a felspar incusion and the black will be Manganese oxide.
This piece of stone is a beautiful example of what we have in the top of the south!
This piece is 6.3cm x 2.6cm
The cord has sliding knots so is adjustable.

I figured it was about time I put some Thulite pendants on the website! I have just been been selling them in Takaka up till now.
What is Thulite you may well ask… Thulite is a manganese rich variety of zoisite which gives it the pink colour. It forms in ultramafic conditions with the likes of serpentine and nephrite jade. I have also found it with Grossular garnet.
