This pendant is carved from a stunning purple piece of Charoite from Siberia.
It is an incredibly complex gemstone with black aegerine-augite crystals and greenish grey microcline felspar inclusions but the purple is the charoite itself. The swirls in it give it a chatoyant shimmer as well.
Sometimes beautiful orange sprays of the mineral Tinaksite are also found as inclusions.
Found only in Siberia in the Chara river area the name charoite is derived from the Russian word that means ‘charms’ or ‘magic’.
This Pendant is 4.4cm high and 4.2cm widest.
